Actress Malavika Mohanan, who plays a character called Aarthi in director Pa Ranjith’s period drama Thangalaan, on Monday said that she had dubbed for Thangalaan and that she was curious to see how the world received it.
Answering a question posed by a fan, she said,”I have dubbed for my role in the film, yes. Curious to see how the audience receives it.
When another fan asked if there was a particular genre she enjoyed working the most, the actress replied, “I always wanted to try out my hand at action, and with Thangalaan, I got to do exactly that. I feel like it’s been a while since I explored a softer side and really want to do a nice love storyish film soon.”
Dream Role
When a fan asked the actress what her dream role was, Malavika replied, “I want to play a Gangster.
Will be interesting to see a woman play a cool gangster, no? And now that I’m trained in action sequences as well, will be fun to explore that side more.”
The actress also said that she liked the genres of “Love-drama/rom-com/romance/thriller” and that she disliked “action/sci-fi”. However, to this, a fan pointed out that she had cited a lady gangster role as her dream role, which would ideally be classified as action genre film.
Malavika responded to this question, saying, she liked playing action roles but not watching it.
The actress also pointed out that Thangalaan was more story driven and that it did not have “mindless action”. “So, it’s still enagaging to watch it when action is ingrained into the narrative and not put in a formulaic way,” she added.
Malavika’s Favourite Actresses
To a question on who her favourite Telugu actresses were, Pat came the reply, “Love Anushka Shetty, Samantha.”
The actress also revealed the silliest thing she believed as a kid and about which she laughs now.
“(I believed) That being an adult is fun & adults know what they’re doing. Now that I’m one, seeing how silly and immature most adults are who are making such important decisions that affect the lives of so many, petrify me!!”
