Rafael Nadal, qui tente un dernier retour en forme à bientôt 38 ans malgré son corps cabossé, a été éliminé en huitièmes de finale du Masters 1000 de Madrid par le jeune Tchèque Jiri Lehecha (31e mondial) 7-5, 6-4, ce mardi soir.

Sauf rebondissement, l’Espagnol aux 22 sacres en Grand Chelem vit en 2024 sa dernière saison sur le circuit et ne devrait plus rejouer de match officiel dans la capitale espagnole. Avant sa défaite mardi soir, Nadal venait de gagner trois matchs de suite sur la terre battue madrilène, une première pour lui depuis l’été 2022.
