Taylor Swift Debuted a Custom Vivienne Westwood Gown for Her New 'TTPD' Eras Tour Set

Taylor Swift is back on the road. The European leg of her epic Eras Tour kicked off with last night’s show in Paris. And it seems a lot has changed. Not only has Swift debuted a few new variations on her old outfits, she’s switched up her setlist.
After the release of her double album The Tortured Poets Department last month, the singer has added the new era into her show. The new segment, which fell after her 1989 set and before her acoustic surprise songs, featured seven tracks from the new album, including “Fortnight,” the album’s first single, and “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?,” Swift’s epic track exploring her life in the spotlight.

The new set was all about high-drama and theatrics. It featured many of the images we’ve already seen in Swift’s artwork and music videos for the album so far: all-white costumes and sets, a typewriter, papers floating through the air, a white, tilting bed with the “TTPD” logo built into the headboard and baseboard.
After concluding her new Tortured Poets Department set last night, Swift took a few moments to speak to the crowd. “That was The Tortured Poets Department or as I like to call it Female Rage: The Musical,” she laughed.
Naturally, Swift debuted a brand new look for the segment. She wore a custom white Vivienne Westwood ballgown, with a corseted bustier bodice that revealed the edges of a black bra below and a structural asymmetrical skirt that revealed one leg. On the skirt, the lyrics “I love you, it’s ruining my life” from the song “Fortnight” were scrawled out in cursive in various sizes and formations. The dress, very appropriately, resembled scrunched up bits of scrap paper that had been used for scribbling down lines of poetry and then tossed aside. She completed the dramatic look with white lace-up platform boots with a red sole and a black beaded choker with the Vivienne Westwood orb in its center. Altogether, this new look instantly recalled her white and black look for the 2024 Grammys when she first announced the album.
During the new set, Swift also donned a long white hussar military jacket featuring epaulette shoulder tassels.

Swift’s new Tortured Poets Department set did result in some casualties to her original setlist. She removed the songs “The Archer,” “Long Live,” “the 1,” “the last great american dynasty,” “’tis the damn season,” and “tolerate it” to make way for the new songs. She also combined the folklore and evermore segments into one.
