Taiwan stock market made a strong rebound on Wednesday after falling sharply from a historic high the day before. The tax rose by over 300 points by close of trade, a positive sign given the 600 point drop on Tuesday. That dip followed a recent surge in share prices that began in early March, taking the market to record highs. But the crisis in the Middle East and the US Federal Reserve’s hesitance to cut interest rates have affected investor sentiment in Taiwan and other Asian markets. The New Taiwan dollar also fell to its lowest value in eight years, something economists say could hurt local import dependent industries.
