Weapons and armor exclusive to Legend of Zelda amiibos in Breath of the Wild can now be found around Hyrule and The Depths in Tears of the Kingdom. Each weapon/armor is a callback to a previous Zelda game, such as Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker. It’s dangerous to go alone, so if you’re looking for a non-decayed weapon, you should get the Sword of the Hero.

Sword of the Hero Location in TotK
Dalite Grove
The Depths is located beneath Hyrule, and you can enter them by diving into the Chasms that have cropped up around Hyrule/The Surface. Most of the cameo/amiibo armor and weapons can be found in The Depths, so if you plan to collect them all, you’ll likely spend a lot of time down there. However, you’ll want to bring plenty of Brightbloom Seeds and Gloom Recovery meals whenever you venture into The Depths.
You can get the Sword of the Hero in the Dalite Grove at -2047, -1129, -0546.
- Dalite Grove is south of the Muzasu Lightroot (-2138, -0874, -0542) in the Hyrule Ridge Depths.
- Another Lightroot near the Dalite Grove is the Napanos Lightroot (-1921, -0359, -0635), but it’s a longer walk from the Napanos Lightroot than the Muzasu Lightroot.
How to Get Sword of the Hero with Amiibo
If you have the 8-bit Link amiibo, you can scan it and get the Sword of the Hero. You may also get a piece of the Armor of the Hero (i.e, Cap of the Hero, Tunic of the Hero, and Trousers of the Hero) if you don’t already have it.
If you don’t get the Sword of the Hero on the first scan, you’ll need to try again later.

Is It Worth Using?
The Sword of the Hero has a base power of 17, making it weak for a non-decayed weapon, but stronger than some of the pristine weapons that you’ll find in the beginning of Tears of the Kingdom. If you’ve completed some of the “Regional Phenomena” main quests (ex: “Yunobo of Goron City”), then you’re likely to have stronger weapons than the Sword of the Hero. However, you can still get it to display in your house.
With 17 power, the Sword of the Hero isn’t worth using if you’re in the midgame-endgame phase of Tears of the Kingdom. The Sword of the Hero isn’t immune to breaking, so you’ll want to be careful if you’re trying not to destroy cameo/amiibo weapons. If you’re starting a new playthrough of TotK, then the Sword of the Hero can be a decent starting weapon simply for its 17 power. The weapons you’ll find on The Surface are all decayed and have extremely low power unless they’re Fused.

Can You Buy the Sword of the Hero?
You won’t be able to have more than one Sword of the Hero in your inventory. After you’ve broken the Sword of the Hero, you can get another in exchange for 100 Poes at any Bargainer Statue – including the one at Lookout Landing. This applies to other amiibo/came weapons such as the White Sword of the Sky.
