A young girl who was seriously injured after she was struck by a car while crossing the road with her mother has made a miraculous recovery.

The girl, whose age has not been confirmed, was holding her mother's hand as they walked across a zebra crossing at Fairfield Gardens, a shopping centre in Brisbane's south, at about 1.10pm on Thursday when she was hit by a Mercedes GLE400 SUV.

She was rushed to Queensland Children's Hospital with leg and abdominal injuries.

On Saturday, her mother shared an update about her daughter's health on Facebook as she thanked the local community for their concern and support.

'She is doing well and has luckily sustained no major injuries and will hopefully be discharged from hospital in the next day or two,' her mother wrote.

'We are reflecting on how incredibly lucky we are to have had such timely action, what a miracle it was that our daughter is fine, and that we have such a fantastic emergency and hospital system available.'
