A Windsor man known to police and being sought on firearms charges has turned himself in.

Windsor police said 24-year-old David “Ivan” Trombley surrendered himself at WPS headquarters on Tuesday — three weeks after he became the subject of an arrest warrant.

Windsor police had been seeking Trombley in relation to a shot that was fired at a home in the area of Tecumseh Road East and Robinet Road in late February.

There were no injuries and the incident was not immediately reported to police.

Investigators became aware of the incident days after it happened due to a report on Feb. 25 that an individual could be seen on social media flashing and pointing a gun.

Trombley now faces charges of: careless use of a firearm, discharge of a firearm into a place, possession of a restricted firearm without a licence, possession of a loaded firearm, possession of a firearm while prohibited, mischief (value under $5,000), and failure to comply with a release order.

The accused was previously arrested in relation to possession of drugs and a loaded handgun in December 2020, in Russell County east of Ottawa.
