RAYA celebrations kicked off with a bang at Sunway Theme Parks on Apr 10 with an array of festivities and entertainment.
The celebrations will run till May 5, with Sunway Theme Parks adorned with eye-catching decorations, accompanied by melodious beats of cultural performances.
One of the highlights was the recent “Jemput Raya” celebration, which took place on the evenings of Apr 13 and 14, at Sunway Lagoon.
Guests were entertained with an extravaganza of festivities, including mesmerising fireworks that lit up the night sky and a variety of performances showcasing Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage.
A floating stage of fun
Throughout the celebrations, revellers enjoyed a line-up of dynamic acts at the Floating Stage of Sunway Lagoon.
Kicking off the festivities that weekend was music from the high-energy band, followed by a Lambada performance that had everyone on their feet.
As the night unfolded, the stage was graced by another electrifying set from the band, along with a breathtaking show of traditional “Silat Kipas” and a vibrant percussion parade.
Guests enjoying Sunway Lagoon’s newest attraction, the Surf Pool and Pink Island at Surf Beach.
Visitors also joined in the fun as they celebrated Raya with mascots Captain Quack and Lady Quack, complete with musical fireworks, as well as Leo and Leona from Sunway Pyramid Mall.
Mascots Samson and Sophia from Sunway University, together with Elfy from Sunway Medical Centre added to the festivities by lighting up sparkles together.
Till May 5, visitors will still be able to enjoy a slew of other performances, with added shows including “Meriahnya Lebaran!” which will take place at the Surf Pool stage, as well as the “Jemput Beraya” and “Pesta Raya” events.
The new kid in town
During the festivities, Sunway Lagoon also unveiled their newest attraction – the Surf Pool and Pink Island at Surf Beach.
Thrill-seekers and water enthusiasts alike took the opportunity to ride the waves and explore the vibrant aquatic wonderland. Adding to the highlight of the evening, was the spectacular performance of synchronised swimmers from the Selangor Artistic Swimming team.
Magical mermaids left visitors in awe at the Jemput Raya festivities at Sunway Lagoon.
Guests then kept their eyes peeled for the much-anticipated mermaids, who made a splash during the surf pool’s big reveal.
At Sunway Lost World of Tambun, the excitement begin with the opening show Rayaku Slay at 10am, welcoming guests at the cat bridge, followed by the culturally enriching Malay Heritage Show and the main “Jemput Raya,” event that delighted visitors till sundown.
