Draymond Green’s appearance in the Golden State Warriors’ game agains the Orlando Magic on Wednesday was short-lived, to say the least.

Green was ejected less than four minutes into the game, picking up two technical fouls in quick succession while arguing with an official.

Green made contact with the ref for the first tech, and was given the second as he walked to the bench while still arguing.

After the game, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr was clear about his feelings regarding Green’s early exit from the game.

“Too bad. It was unfortunate. He deserved it,” Kerr said. “He’ll bounce back. I’m just proud of the guys for stepping up.”

Kerr clarified that the ejection doesn’t affect his level of confidence in Green, but it seems to be clear that the Warriors aren’t going to make excuses for his behavior.

Green was ejected for the fourth time this season, the most in the NBA. He’s the first player to be ejected from four games in a season since Kevin Durant in 2017-18.

Green has been ejected from 19 regular-season games in his career, second only to Rasheed Wallace who was ejected 25 times in his career.

The NBA stepped in to hand Green the longest suspension of his career to date earlier this season, when he was suspended for nearly one month following an incident with Jusuf Nurkic of the Phoenix Suns.

The Warriors are currently 10th in the West with a handful of games left in the regular season.

They hold the final Play-In spot in the conference for now, but the Houston Rockets have been gaining ground over the last few weeks with a 10-game winning streak.

We’ll see how Kerr handles Green for the rest of the season with a Play-In Tournament spot hanging in the balance.
