Sports Minister meets foreign representatives enhancing partnership in university sports

Tunis, May 3 (TAP) – “Consolidating partnership in the field of university sports” was the focus of a meeting which brought together, on Friday, Minister of Youth and Sports Kamel Deguiche, and a number of representatives from university sports organisations and institutions from Russia, Belgium, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan.
The meeting shed light on possibilities to sign framework agreements with counterparts of the represented countries, the Ministry said in a statement.
It also sought to increase student exchange programmes within the context of sports and youth events, as well as specialist exchange programmes in combat sports like boxing and karate.
The minister commended Tunisia’s participation in the World Youth Festival held in March 2024 in Sotchi, Russia, describing it as “fruitful” in terms of agreements signed in higher education field.
He also spoke of national initiatives aimed at promoting education, namely the National Consolation on Education Reform and the Second Chance project, alongside measures to foster modern sports within youth institutions, such as robotics.
