Soaking storm on track to bring days of rain to the Prairies
We are tracking a deepening low pressure assistance we potentially dumping over 100mm of rainfall as it is fueled with quite a bit of atmospheric moisture across the Prairie provinces. As we head into your upcoming work week heading into your Monday afternoon, there’s a rain starting to move in through southern areas of Saskatchewan, western areas of Manitoba and the majority of Alberta as well. Seeing quite a bit of heavy rainfall persistent heading into your Monday overnight. Looking at more heavier rainfall rates down towards Red Deer east of Calgary as well the Cypress Hills and this moisture will continue. To bring quite a bit of heavy rainfall into your Tuesday afternoon Brandon, Regina all the way up to Fort McMurray, we’ll be seeing some of those precipitation, even a little bit of snow up along the foothills and the Rocky Mountains. We’ll start to see this precipitation start to ease into your late Wednesday. But overall areas like medicine hatch oan potentially 60 to 100mm of rainfall in the forecast. Down towards southwestern Saskatchewan, 60 to 80 is in the cars now. This low pressure system is going to be deepening. Which means the winds are going to be getting quite strong. We could be looking at low pressure getting up down to 980 millibars, even a little bit lower than that as we head into this upcoming work week.
