Greens Senator Nick McKim has threatened Woolworths CEO Brad Banducci with jail time for refusing to answer questions about the supermarket chain’s profitability at a Senate inquiry.
During the hearing, Mr Banducci was threatened with a contempt charge, making this his second public mistake after bungling an interview earlier this year.
“Well, you can’t say it wasn’t entertaining,” Sky News host Rita Panahi said.
“You don’t expect a Senate inquiry to descend into this sort of behaviour and discourse,” Ms Panahi said.
“Just mishandling of situations like that, because that got to that point because I think he refused just to say, I’ll take that question on notice – I’ll come back with an answer if he didn’t know the answer.”
