Russian military forces have intensified the construction of fortifications across the entire territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea, including near the coastline, along the administrative border with the Kherson region, and in the center of the peninsula, according to the Telegram channel of the partisan movement ATESH.

“Agents of ATESH report that the occupiers have begun intensifying the construction of fortifications throughout Crimea. We observe this process near the coastline along the administrative border with the Kherson region, as well as in the center of the peninsula,” the statement reads.

It is noted that the Russian troops are constructing new trenches, reinforcing old ones, and strengthening the protection of logistical facilities.

“Presumably, this is happening against the backdrop of military and financial aid flowing into Ukraine from allies. News of the rapid acquisition of ATACMS ballistic missiles for the Armed Forces of Ukraine is deeply troubling for the Russian government. These missiles, combined with F-16 fighters and other assets, could destroy the so-called Crimean Bridge, which would fundamentally change the battlefield situation,” the partisans speculate.

Situation in Crimea

Recently, the Ukrainian Defense Forces launched a missile strike on the occupied city of Yevpatoriya. Ukrainian intelligence reported that as a result, the enemy lost launcher units for the S-400 air defense missile system, radar stations, and other vital equipment.

Moreover, on the morning of April 21, explosions were reported in Sevastopol. The occupation administration announced the repulsion of an attack on a Russian ship; however, there were claims of “incoming fire” on social media.

The Crimean Wind Telegram channel reported a likely strike on the ship Kommuna, which was later confirmed by the Navy.

Additionally, The Guardian reported that the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine was preparing to strike the Crimean Bridge in the first half of the current year.

Intelligence representative Andrii Yusov commented on this information, stating that it was not new and that the bridge itself is a legitimate target for Ukrainian forces.
