Oxfam Chief Executive Lyn Morgan’s comments about stage three tax cuts on the ABC this morning were “strong words” but “just utterly wrong”, says Sky News host Caleb Bond.
Ms Morgan on ABC Radio National described stage three tax cuts as “lunacy” and said they must be abolished.
“I’m not sure how many times it needs to be explained but stage three tax cuts will deliver a benefit to every single taxpayer who earns more than $45,000 a year,” Mr Bond said.
“If you earn between 45k and 120k your tax rate will drop from 32 and a half per cent to 30 per cent and those earning more than 120k will also pay 30 per cent instead of 37 per cent on every dollar up to 200k.
‘Simple as that’: ‘Most people’ would benefit from stage three tax cuts
“Most people will get a tax cut. Simple as that. Struggling families will get a tax cut.”
