Shadow environment minister Jonathon Duniam discusses the unknown funding which aided the legal challenge against oil and gas giant Santos.
The public is a step closer to finding out who helped fund the legal challenge from The Environmental Defenders Office (EDO) which contested Santos’ $5.6 billion Barossa gas project.
Shadow Environment Minister calls for ‘transparency’ on Environmental Defenders Office funding
“Definitely a free country, but one where transparency is central to a good functioning democracy,” Mr Duniam told Sky News Australia.
“Where is the funding coming from, the hundreds of thousands, if not millions, being used to fund the EDO?
“Justice Charlesworth has ordered transparency be provided for, that we can actually see how the EDO is funding these operations.”
