Sergei Bobrovsky pulled off one of the most absurd saves you’ll ever see
There aren’t many goalies in hockey that inspire the level of fear that Sergei Bobrovsky does, and on Tuesday night he showed why. Bob was at his typical brilliance for the entire game against the Lightning, but this save with the game on the line was on another level.
A backhanded glove save just isn’t something that should happen. Heck, it’s rare to see Bobrovsky so out of position — but that happened when he slipped trying to get back on his line. You could see this happen 1,000 times and 999 times it would be a goal, and the other would be this from Bob.
To be fair: He was absolutely helped by the fact that Matt Dumba shot this like a dope. Why he decided to lift the puck instead of just slotting it in is beyond me, but to be fair, he also probably assumed there was no way anyone could save this.
The Panthers took a 2-0 series lead over the Lightning. In Bob We Trust.
