The drink-focused concept first opened in Illinois in December

McDonald’s newest restaurant chain, CosMc’s, has officially landed in Dallas.
The spinoff was first announced in December when the company revealed that they would be testing out a drink-focused concept. The new chain is a stand-alone outpost where customers can pick up both familiar McDonald’s items and new menu offerings including add-on items like popping boba, flavor syrups, energy and vitamin C shots.
The first location opened in Bolingbrook, Illinois in December, and the latest CosMc’s in Dallas celebrated its grand opening on Saturday. More locations are expected to open by the end of 2024.

Blue and yellow walls decorate the establishment where customers lined up to try specialty teas, cold coffee and other menu items like sour cherry energy slush, tropical spiceade and s’mores cold brew. Smiling patrons posed with drinks as DJ SheReal provided the tunes.

Celestial imaging can be seen on staff uniforms as well as futuristic kiosks where customers can conveniently place their orders, complete with cashless payment devices before picking up their selection at a counter.
And for those in a hurry, there’s also a drive-thru experience.
In addition to more filling fan favorites like M&M’s McFlurries, customers will also be able to purchase snack options such as egg McMuffin sandwiches, spicy queso sandwiches, McPops (which can be compared to filled donut holes) and pretzel bites.

CosMc’s has two new restaurants opening in Texas. The Watauga location will open on April 2 and the Arlington one will start serving on April 8 — perfectly timed to align with a rare solar eclipse.
The next total solar eclipse (when the Sun, the Moon, and Earth line up) will not occur for another 20 years.
NASA previously released a map that highlights which cities will experience the solar eclipse on April 8 — including some in Texas.

CosMc’s isn’t the only McDonald’s revamp as of late. In February, the brand’s famous golden arches were temporarily turned upside down to form a “W” for manga-inspired packaging in over 30 global markets.
“We love that our fans have been inviting us into the conversation for years. The WcDonald’s universe is a reflection of what fans have created. It honors their vision and celebrates their creativity while authentically bringing it to life in our restaurants for the first time ever,” Tariq Hassan, Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer at McDonald’s USA, said in a press release statement.
Anime fans in Los Angeles were also able to visit the first real-life WcDonald’s on March 9 and March 10.
