Ferrari Dino 208
Nissan Skyline GT-R R32
Nissan Skyline GT-R R32
One of the few Nineties Japanese heroes that went on to conquer the world, and isn’t so stupidly inflated that it’s unattainable. This R32 has around 43,000 miles to its name and is up for well under the fifty-grand budget. That’s a fair price to pay to own your very own mutated lizard.

Ferrari Dino 208 GT4
If you’re part of our younger audience and wondering why this kit car has made our list, allow us to educate you. This is the Dino 208: a 2+2 grand tourer designed by the late Marcello Gandini and named after Enzo’s son. It wasn’t only Ferrari’s first mid-rear-engined V8 production car but also its first official collaboration with Bertone. Utterly gorgeous.

Volkswagen Samba Bus
This year the Mustang celebrates its 60th anniversary, and Ford will roll out a unique version of the seventh generation to celebrate. But for much less than the price of one of those, why not just get the car which started the pony car revolution in the first place? You’ll find just such a thing in pristine condition at this link.

Porsche 928S
How gorgeous is this fully restored Volkswagen Samba Bus? It’s one of the sought-after 23-window versions and has accumulated just 47,000 miles in its 50-year life so far. If you want one that’s already been converted for the coastal lifestyle, we’ve got you covered there too: click here.

Mercedes-Benz 500 SEC
Yes, we know what you’re thinking: why would you possibly include an old Subie in this list when you can pick one up for a tenner these days? Well, partly because they’re just really good cars in general, but mostly because this one has covered a mere 2,500 miles. So for forty grand, you can still extract years’ worth of yobo-ness out of it.

Porsche 928S
Renault Clio Williams
How about this bright red Porsche 928 with lightly bronzed alloys and a manual gearstick to access that 4.7-litre V8? You’re treated to a full beige leather suite inside, too, and uber-comfy seating for four (provided the rear seat passengers have breadsticks for legs). Not a bad way to spend £35,000.

Wildcard: Toyota Land Cruiser
You’d never guess this 1990 Mercedes-Benz 500 has 139k on the clock after viewing the images; it’s in truly fabulous condition. You get such luxuries as: a sunroof! A cassette player! More cream leather upholstery than just about any other car in existence! Also, you don’t need breadstick legs to use the rear seats. Win.

Ford Sierra RS Cosworth
Oh yes, you can indeed treat yourself to a proper Fast Ford from the golden age… if you can haggle it down a little. This one’s up for sale at Iconic Auctioneers for £55,000 with a blue exterior finish and temptingly low mileage count. Oh, we also found this batty Sierra Cosworth 4×4 conversion up for around half the price of the RS, if that’s the sort of thing that floats your boat.

Renault Clio Williams
We wanted to squeeze in at least one fizzy little retro hatchback this week, and they don’t get much better than a 1994 Renault Clio Williams. This is peak back-road hot hatchery in its most distilled form: 981kg skipping between corners courtesy of a rorty 145bhp four-pot. Perfect.
,
Wildcard: Toyota Land Cruiser
Alas, we land at one hell of a wildcard. Take a peek at this Land Cruiser that’s not a Land Cruiser, because it’s been chopped and modified so much that it can literally go hunting for rogue aliens in the Amazon Delta. It’s an 80 Series 4.2 from 1993, and the list of additions is… probably the length of the world’s biggest rainforest itself.
