India logs 290 fresh Covid cases, six deaths
India has registered 290 new Covid cases during the past 24 hours, the Union Health ministry said on Sunday.
The overall caseload in the country rose to 4,50,23,751 with the detection of the new cases of infections. These include the new JN.1 Covid variant.
According to the data, of the new cases, Karnataka reported the highest with 105 cases followed by Maharashtra 71 and West Bengal 23.
Six cases were reported from the national capital.
As per the data, the death toll rose to 5,33,434 as six more succumbed to the disease. Four deaths were reported from Kerala, one each from Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh.
On the other hand, 266 people recuperated from the disease, taking the total recovery to 4,44,88,258.
The active cases in the country stand at 2,059.
