Russian forces attacked the town of Derhachi in the Kharkiv region on April 26, using UAVs. A two-story building caught fire, and children were injured, according to the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov.

“As a result of enemy strikes on Derhachi in the Kharkiv region, two children were injured,” he said.

According to the head of the regional administration, girls aged 16 and 5 received medical assistance on the spot without hospitalization.

“The occupiers struck the central part of the city. Preliminary reports suggest they used guided aerial bombs. As a result of the guided bomb strike, a two-story building caught fire,” Syniehubov added.

Increase in casualties

Later, Syniehubov said that the number of casualties from the enemy strike on a residential building in Derhachi had increased to four people.

“A 4-year-old boy and a 52-year-old woman suffered minor injuries and acute stress reactions,” the head of the regional administration added.

Shelling of Derhachi

Russian forces have been constantly shelling the town of Derhachi in the Kharkiv region. For example, at the end of March this year, the Russian army struck Derhachi with a missile. This resulted in the destruction of buildings and injuries to four people. In May 2022, Russian forces also shelled Derhachi in the Kharkiv region, resulting in one death and three injuries.

Russian forces have recently been regularly using guided bombs to shell border regions of Ukraine, including during attacks on Kharkiv and Sumy. For example, in early April, explosions were heard in Kharkiv, and residents were warned about launch of guided bombs.
