Today, April 17, a Soviet multipurpose helicopter Mi-8 was destroyed at the Kryazh airfield located in Samara, Russian Federation, reports the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
According to intelligence, the Russian army used the helicopter in the war against Ukraine. In particular, the enemy transported weapons and personnel in it.
The cost of the Mi-8 ranges from $10 to $15 million.
Destruction of Russian aviation
Over the past months, Russia has lost over a dozen aircraft. For example, in January, Ukrainian troops shot down a Russian A-50 aircraft over the Azov Sea. Also, in February, another A-50 was destroyed.
After that, Russia also lost a significant number of Su aircraft. On February 17, two Su-34 bombers and one Su-35 fighter were destroyed. In particular, another Su-34 was downed the next day.
