The Brough Superior SS100 And Lawrence Bear Distinct Neo-Retro Designs
The company’s North American lineup comprises the SS100 and Lawrence. Starting with the former, it’s Brough’s homage to its old “Super Sport” bikes. Accordingly, the SS100 boasts a distinct retro design, complete with a round headlight, curvy tank, and spoke-like alloy wheels. We also dig the exhausts.
Don’t be fooled by its retro aesthetic, though; the SS has loads of quality components under the skin. For instance, the chassis and subframe are both carved from titanium. The front suspension comprises Fior-type aluminum forks with titanium links, while the rear end has a fully adjustable monoshock. You also get Beringer brakes at each end, attached to 18-inch aluminum wheels.
Next, we have the Lawrence. Although it shares the titanium chassis with the SS, this one serves as Brough’s comparatively modern take on motorcycles. It’s made evident by the edgy design, comprising an upswept two-into-two exhaust, swooped-up seat, and a gorgeous raw carbon fiber fuel tank. A special mention goes to the lovely aluminum finish on the swingarm, forks, and wheels.
Speaking of which, the wheels are cast aluminum with a chunky seven-spoke design. They join hands with Fior-type CNC machined fork and monoshock, along with big 320 mm Beringer front discs. You also get a steeper take than the SS, plus 19/17-inch wheel sizes.

Both Brough Superior Models Boast A 997cc, V-Twin Engine
Differences aside, both bikes have Brough’s 997cc, V-twin engine. It has a compression ratio of 11:1, four valves per cylinder, and liquid cooling to churn out 102 horsepower and 64 pound-feet. Yes, that’s not a lot, but the peak output is somewhat comparable to American 1,000cc engines like we see on the Indian Scout Sixty and Harley-Davidson Nightster. More engine details are given below:
