Joe Biden to cancel US$7.4 billion in student debt for 277,000 borrowers

More than a quarter of a million people in the US will receive an email, telling them their student debt has been cancelled.

It’s the second time this week the Biden administration has announced it’s cutting student loans.

The White House on Friday announced that the Biden administration will cancel US$7.4 billion in student debt for 277,000 borrowers.

“Thanks to what we’re doing that student debt is no longer holding you back,” said US President Joe Biden.

“The Biden administration has taken the most significant action to provide student debt relief ever in the history of this country,” he said.
