Shea Lacey signs first professional contract at Manchester United

Manchester United youngster Shea Lacey has signed his first professional contract at the club.

On episode 194 of the Strettycast, we spoke in-depth about Lacey’s development and now he’s secured a professional contract after turning 17.

Lacey has been unlucky with injuries this season but he returned to action as a substitute for the U18s at the weekend. It was his first appearance since he sustained an injury in November. This came after a bright start to the campaign as Lacey scored two goals and registered four assists in nine matches.

Before Lacey’s return to action over the weekend, the young winger was spotted training with Erik ten Hag’s first team.

Lacey took to Instagram after putting pen to paper, writing: “Proud moment for me and my family signing my first professional contract at this club.”

It’s an exciting moment for the youngster and proof that hard work pays off.

The coaches at United will be telling Lacey that the hard work starts now. His next milestone will be making his first team debut and I think we can expect to see him on the pre-season tour this summer.
