Bafana Bafana star: Premier League club eyes AFCON sensation

Bafana Bafana star finds himself in the spotlight as AS Monaco FC and a mystery Premier League contender express keen interest in his talents. Fresh from a stellar performance at the Africa Cup of Nations. The Mamelodi Sundowns ace is at the centre of transfer talks heating up, according to Soccer Laduma sources.

Bafana Bafana star: English interest revealed

The news broke of Ligue 1 and English clubs vying for a South African midfielder Teboho Mokoena. Now, as Mokoena returns home, sources divulged details on the English suitor’s identity.

The Premier League outfit in question?

None other than AFC Bournemouth, according to insiders familiar with the negotiations.

“They didn’t want to say which club is interested in him in England because they didn’t want to disturb the talks but so far what we know is that it’s Bournemouth,” said the source.

Mokoena’s potential move and impact

Commenting on the potential move, a source shed light on the intricacies of the situation.

“Obviously he won’t come cheap. He is one of the most priced players not only at Sundowns but in South Africa as well. But knowing English teams they will fight for what they believe is an asset,” the source observed.

Acknowledging Mokoena’s stature as a prized asset. The source emphasised the anticipated negotiations.

“As much as they don’t want to stand in the player’s way for an overseas move. They want to make sure that he goes to a league and team where he will be a regular. Because that would affect his place in the national team as well. They want him to go to a club where he will improve his game. And not drop in form because of not playing. So Bournemouth are interested in him and they have made inquiries. But all will depend if the chance is there for him to go and play. That’s the most important condition for him to move to Europe,” the source concluded.

Despite a mixed bag of performances at AFCON. Mokoena’s prowess on the pitch remains undeniable. From penalty misses to decisive goals, including a memorable free-kick against Morocco, his impact resonates across international stages.
