The Kaizer Chiefs has reportedly narrowed down the list of candidates who will take over from Cavin Johnson at the end of the season.
According to reports, Kaizer Chiefs have a five-man shortlist of possible head coaches to choose from when the time comes for interim boss Cavin Johnson to vacate the role.
The Amakhosi will persist with Johnson for the remainder of the campaign before announcing his successor in the lead-up to the start of the new season.
KAIZER CHIEFS FIVE-MAN SHORTLIST
As per a report by Soccer Laduma, only two South African coaches have made it onto Kaizer Chiefs’ on wanted list.
The two local candidates in with a shot of becoming Chiefs coach are Pitso Mosimane and Manqoba Mngqithi.
Both the local options were at Mamelodi Sundowns in recent years, with Mngqithi still there now. Mosimane has long been touted as Chiefs’ ideal candidate with the aim to replicate the success he enjoyed at Sundowns at the Amakhosi.
It is believed that the other three coaching candidates still in the race for the Kaizer Chiefs top job hail from Europe (two) and South America (one).
“There are five coaches currently shortlisted by the club and these include Pitso Mosimane and Manqoba Mngqithi. There are two from Europe and one from South America but they want to cut that down to at least two or three before making the Bnal decision.
