Rain in Bicol, VisMin due to easterlies, cloud clusters – Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — Rain is likely to occur in the Bicol Region, Visayas, and Mindanao on Tuesday due to the effects of the easterlies and cloud clusters, the state weather agency said.

The easterlies, or warm winds blowing from the Pacific Ocean, are anticipated to cause precipitation in the Bicol Region and Visayas while cloud clusters spotted on the south-eastern portion of Mindanao bring rains over the southern portion of the region.

In an early morning public report, state weather specialist Rhea Torres said: “Easterlies pa rin po ‘yung nakaka-apekto sa malaking bahagi ng ating bansa kaya asahan din po natin possible po makakaranas ng mga pag-ulan ‘yung eastern portions ng Bicol Region pati na rin ‘yung Kabisayaan.”

(Easterlies still affect a large portion of our country, so let’s also expect that the eastern portions of the Bicol Region as well as the Visayas may experience rain.)

The forecast of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) likewise showed that the weather will be generally fair for the rest of the country on Tuesday.

Torres even said that a sultry climate will persist.

“Sa nalalabing bahagi naman po ng ating bansa magpapatuloy pa rin ‘yung mainit na panahon lalong-lalo na dito sa Luzon,” the Pagasa expert said.

(In the remaining parts of our country, the hot weather will continue, especially here in Luzon.)

“Wala po tayong namamataan na mga ulap na posibleng magdala ng maghapon na mga pag-ulan,” she added.

(We do not see any clouds that might bring rain during the day.)
