Raiders 5-round NFL mock draft without a quarterback
The Las Vegas Raiders enter the 2024 NFL Draft with needs to address on both sides of the ball, including offensive line, cornerback, and quarterback.
While many are pleading for general manager Tom Telesco to take a quarterback early, Las Vegas could instead focus on bolstering the roster around Gardner Minshew or Aidan O’Connell, especially if the team doesn’t find itself in position to grab one.
That said, here is a five-round Raiders mock draft that covers that scenario.
Raiders 5-round mock draft
Round 1, Pick 13: OT JC Latham, Alabama
Right tackle is a pressing need for Las Vegas after the departure of Jermaine Eluemunor in free agency.
Latham is rising up draft boards and would step in as an immediate starter on the Raiders’ offensive line. The 21-year-old allowed two sacks and a pressure rate of 4.4% on true pass sets in 2023 and has all the physical tools to be a cornerstone player for Antonio Pierce and the Raiders.
Round 2, Pick 44: WR Troy Franklin, Oregon
Taking a wide receiver this early could be controversial, but Franklin is exactly what Las Vegas needs in a WR3.
The second-team All-American has the versatility to play in the slot and on the outside and has a knack for explosive plays. He’s a perfect complement to Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers.
Round 3, Pick 77: CB Cam Hart, Notre Dame
The Raiders need another boundary corner opposite Jack Jones, so they select one of the most underrated prospects in the entire draft.
Hart has elite size for an NFL cornerback at 6-foot-3 and 202 pounds, and with 33-inch arms. Hart allowed a passer rating of 67.1 in 2023 and scored an 84.2 PFF Grade. He’d be an immediate starter for defensive coordinator Patrick Graham.
Round 4, Pick 112: S Jaden Hicks, Washington State
Vegas addresses the secondary once again, this time selecting Washington State’s Jaden Hicks in Round 4. Safety isn’t an immediate need, but Marcus Epps and Tre’von Moehrig are scheduled to be free agents next offseason, and the Raiders lack young talent at the position.
Hicks has the versatility to play nickel and both free and strong safety. He would be a versatile chess piece for Las Vegas’ defense, with the potential to develop into a plus starter.
Round 5, Pick 148: G Layden Robinson, Texas A&M
The signing of Cody Whitehair lessens the Raiders’ need for a guard in the short term, but adding some young depth to the position group would be ideal.
Robinson was a three-year starter at College Station and is a solid pass protector with potential in the run game. Not a starting-level player, but he’d provide adequate depth at right guard.
