Tengku Zafrul said Malaysia has accumulated a total of RM329.5bil in approved investments for the manufacturing, services and primary sectors in 2023.
PETALING JAYA: Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz will seek to file his own affidavit following Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s affidavit in support of Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s application for leave to commence judicial review in relation to an alleged royal addendum.
The Investment, Trade and Industry Minister said that he would be obtaining legal advice and looking to file an affidavit to correct certain factual errors contained in the Deputy Prime Minister’s affidavit.
“I take no position in so far as the merits of the ongoing dispute are concerned, but I merely wish to ensure that the factual record is properly reflected and recorded so that all parties and in particular the High Court is properly appraised of all material facts,” he said in a statement on Wednesday (April 17).
“This will ultimately allow for a just and fair decision to be made in the interest of all parties concerned,” he said.
Meanwhile, The Attorney General’s Chambers says it would bring the matter relating to a statement by Zafrul to the court’s attention.
“In reference to the statement issued by Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz dated April 17 (Wednesday) on the affidavit by Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi on April 9 in the legal proceedings initiated by Najib in the Kuala Lumpur High Court, the AGC will bring the matter up to the court’s attention,” it said in a brief statement.
Earlier, Tengku Zafrul said he would seek to file his own affidavit following Ahmad Zahid’s affidavit in support of Najib’s application for leave to commence judicial review in relation to an alleged royal addendum.

Ahmad Zahid, in an affidavit, claimed that the royal addendum from the former Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, which would allow Najib to go under house arrest, does exist.
In the affidavit, the Umno president said Tengku Zafrul showed him the document at his (Ahmad Zahid’s) house at Country Heights on Jan 30.
Ahmad Zahid said Tengku Zafrul showed him a copy of the addendum order on his (Tengku Zafrul’s) phone, which he personally photographed or scanned from an original copy as shown to him by the former YDPA.
Earlier, the High Court barred the press from covering the hearing of Najib’s leave application at the request of the former prime minister’s lead counsel, Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah.
Muhammad Shafee said the matter should be moved in-chambers due to its sensitive nature.
Senior Federal Counsels Shamsul Bolhassan and Ahmad Hanir Hambaly did not object.
Justice Amarjeet Singh allowed the application.
The judge fixed June 5 to deliver his decision.
