The Lions extended their playoff run after their first postseason win in 32 years After defeating the Buccaneers, the Lions will face the 49ers for the NFC title DailyMail.com provides all the latest international sports news
The cold temperatures in Buffalo did not stop fans from warming up pregame- so much so that one of them caught fire during a tailgate.
A viral video showed a fan sporting a Detroit Lions sweater taking part in what has become a tradition of slamming each other through tables a-la WWE. These fans took the stunt up a notch by lighting the plastic table on fire before the slam.
A Bills fan held the Lions supporter in a fireman carry on the bed of a pickup truck before dropping him through the flaming table.
The adrenaline-filled supporter got right back up and moved the broken table out of the snow. Moments later, he, and the rest of the crowd realized that his pants had caught fire upon making contact with the table.
They quickly came together to try and put out the flame as the fan tried appeared to panic. The clip ends with him rolling on the ground while being crowded by his spectators. Although it does not show the moment when the flame was extinguished.

The Lions defeated the Buccaneers in the divisional playoffs to advance to the NFC title game
The tradition started in Buffalo with Bills fans jumping through tables before every home game in 2015. Since then, several fanbases around the NFL picked up on the pregame practice.
Despite being slammed through a table in enemy territory, the Lions fan has plenty of reasons to be excited after his team bested Buccaneers, 31-23, in a divisional playoff game in Detroit.
The victory follows their first playoff win in 32 years after defeating the Los Angeles Rams in the wildcard round. The Lions secured a 24-23 win behind quarterback Jared Goff completing 22 of 27 throws for 277 yards and a touchdown.
They qualified for the postseason after finishing on top of the NFC North with an impressive 12-5 record in the regular season.
Extending their playoff run means having to get past the Buccaneers who finished their season with a 9-8 record. Quarterback Baker Mayfield completed 364 of 566 attempts for 4,044 yards and 28 touchdowns in the regular season. He also spearheaded Tampa Bay’s 32-9 upset over the Philadelphia Eagles in the wildcard round.
With the win, the Lions will face the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC championship game next weekend. Meanwhile, the Bills hope to get past the Kansas City Chiefs to qualify for the AFC championship against the Ravens.
