PSL teenager set for European move

Luphumlo “Kaka” Sifumba, a youth player for Cape Town City, is scheduled to travel to Europe during the upcoming PSL transfer window.

One of the gifted individuals to come out of the DStv Diski Challenge is Sifumba, who attracted attention from all throughout Europe right away.

PSL teenager set for European move after Cape Town City breakthrough

Sifumba, who is still only 19 years old, has made 13 appearances for City’s first-team squad.

A year ago, he marked his first-team debut against Orlando Pirates.

According to information provided to Kickoff, Sifumba’s handlers, who are headquartered in Portugal, are actively working to move him to Europe.

Poland has been set as his destination according to the latest updates.

Sifumba’s agents and the Polish club have already reached out to City and his father over the move according to the publication.

Another deal comes up for hot PSL talent

Austrian champions FC Red Bull Salzburg were also previously linked with the Cape Town City youngster. However, the deal fell through due to financial terms over his transfer not being reached.

‘Kaka’ is a technically skilled attacking midfield player whom City values for his ability to distribute, help, and create space for teammates. Sifumba was praised as a “coach” and a leader on the pitch by City’s development team, and he also had a talent for scoring goals.

The Cape Town team gave him the illustrious number eight jersey. Some of the best players for the team, Teko Modise and Lebo Manyama among them, wore it in the past. Their choices demonstrate how confident they are in his potential.

But Cape Town City are probably not going to be willing to part with one of its brightest prospects easily. Sifumba and the team have a deal that runs through 2025. Without a doubt, City will look to maximise his transfer worth before accepting any proposals for a permanent or loan move.

Sifumba happy with Eric Tinkler

Sifumba is also pleased with how Eric Tinkler has handled him so far in the PSL.

”He knows that I am a quality player. Tinlkler demands that a lot – for me to create chances and assist the team to go forward. I know how blessed I am to be surrounded by them,” said Sifumba in a chat with SABC Sport.

The 19-year-old believes that he is progressing well at Cape Town City.

”My progress has been going well. As a player you need to grow, mentality, physically and in many ways,” added Sifumba.

City have previously made it clear that they will not sell Sifumba to a rival PSL outfit.
