One research conducted in 2010 on red grape juice has found that consumption of this juice can significantly increase serum high density lipoprotein levels and decrease high cholesterol levels. These findings also reported that the juice can also prevent the formation of atherosclerosis in healthy individuals. In addition, a research conducted in 2019 on white grape juice did agree with this potential effect on reducing high density lipoprotein and reducing blood cholesterol level.

Fresh grapes or grape juice can help lower cholesterol. Antioxidants in grape juice will enhance the level of HDL and lower the levels of LDL and triglycerides. Moreover, grapes with their skins contain soluble fiber that can bind excess cholesterol that is absorbed in the intestine.
