Glucose tolerance test. This test is done by asking the client to sleep for the first time. The patient will then undergo a fasting blood sugar test measurement. For patients who already have diabetes, a target level of HbA1c below 7.0 and fasting blood glucose below 129 is a good goal. This is a standard that will not cause complications. However, this is only a guideline and depends on the individual patient’s condition. Please consult with your family physician before proceeding with treatment.

The regular or healthy blood sugar range for diabetics is the same as for someone who is not a diabetic (if they are on medication to control diabetes). The healthy range is between 4-6 mmol/L.
