Yes, beets in their natural state are considered an acidic vegetable with their pH ranging from 5.2 to 6.6, and when processed their acidity may even increase. Even though beets are naturally acidic, they do have alkaline causing properties once ingested. They contain vitamins and minerals that are released into the blood and these create the alkaline effect.

Beets are nutrient-rich and loaded with antioxidants. Thinking about where beets lie on the pH scale, they are slightly acidic. Although acid reflux concerns can differ from person to person, beets generally won’t cause an issue.

Beets are acidic. Traditional raw ones which you find in produce section of your grocery store or farmer’s market have a pH of 5.3 to 6.6. Due to this rating below 7, they are acidic.
