Prism+, the brand that’s perhaps more well known for their TVs and monitors, is now entering the smart home appliance scene in Malaysia. The Singaporean company has today announced the new Prism+ Luna smart air conditioner, along with the accompanying Prism+ Aura smart air purifier.
Prism+ Luna smart air conditioner
Prism+ Luna: Smart air conditioner with 1HP and 1.5HP models, from as low as RM799
The Prism+ Luna is positioned as a budget-friendly and affordable smart air conditioner, with the brand stating that it was developed specifically with Malaysian users in mind. Available in 1HP and 1.5HP models, the former has a cooling capacity of 9,000BTU while the latter is capable of 12,000BTU cooling capacity. Prism+ says that the Luna uses not only uses the more eco-friendly R32 refrigerant, but also has its own Gold Fin technology, a four layer anti-corrosive coating meant to protect both the indoor unit and compressor against the elements.
That alone doesn’t make it a smart air conditioner though. Users of the Prism+ Luna air conditioner can link it to the Prism+ Connect smartphone app for a seamless and convenient way to control their AC. Using the app, you can not only control things like temperature and fan speed, but also set up routines so that it automatically cools your home based on time or ambient temperature, or just let it decide when it’s best to turn on with sensor assisted cooling.
The Prism+ Connect app also lets you get insights into your air conditioners’ usage behaviour and even book a service appointment with Prism+ to let them service your AC. Another cool feature is its geofencing function, which lets you set distance parameters of up to 1km away, and once it detects that you’re within the set distance it’ll automatically turn on; likewise, if you forget to turn it off, once you’re far enough it’ll turn off by itself too.
You’ll be able to pre-order the Prism+ Luna from the Prism+ Malaysia website from 1 May onwards, while it will also be available on their official Shopee, Lazada and retail outlets from 15 May onwards. The 1HP Prism+ Luna will be priced at RM799 during this period, down from its RM999 RRP. Similarly, you can get the 1.5HP Prism+ Luna for RM1,099, down from its RM1,299 RRP.
On top of that, all units of the Prism+ Luna will come with a standard warranty of two years on the fan coil unit and five years on the compressor. However, if you opt for the extended warranty packing with annual servicing via Prism+, you’ll get seven years of extended warranty on both the fan coil unit and compressor unit.
Prism+ Aura smart air purifier
Together with the Luna air conditioner, there’s also the Prism+ Aura smart air purifier. Just like the Luna, you can hook it up with the Prism+ Connect app to control it and also get insights into your usage. The app will also be able to tell you how clean or dirty the filer is and whether you need to change it or not, as well as the air quality level of your room.
The Prism+ Aura has an effective coverage of 182 ft², and comes with the latest HEPA H13 medical-grade filtration to eliminate the harmful airborne particles in your room. Also, the orb shaped ‘head’ of the Aura has eyes which can tell you at a glance how clean the air is around it too.
The Prism+ Aura will go on sale on the Prism+ Malaysia website, their official store on Lazada and Shopee as well as their retail outlets from 1 May onwards. Available at RM429 for the Alpine White model and RM449 for the Space Grey model, early birds will be able to snag it with a RM50 discount.
