House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan revealed that he is investigating the recent termination of a journalist whose most recent work was delving into Hunter Biden.

Catherine Herridge, a veteran reporter covering national security and intelligence, was among the hundreds of CBS employees who were laid off by parent company Paramount last week.

Herridge was covering investigations into the Biden family when the network seized her personal notes after her termination, a move SAG-AFTRA, the CBS workers’ union, calls ‘completely inappropriate’ and ‘very unusual.’

Some of the seized materials reportedly included confidential source information.

‘We’re trying to dig into this,’ Jordan disclosed to a humming crowd at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) Friday. ‘This is scary what’s happening to Catherine.’

The union representing Herridge slammed CBS News for seizing her files after they fired her

‘What CBS has done just doesn’t make sense, and its something that were going to dig into.’

SAG-AFTRA, the union representing Herridge, released a statement Thursday saying it ‘strongly condemns CBS News’ decision to seize Catherine Herridge’s reporter notes and research from her office, including confidential source information.’

The investigate journalist had recently covered the House impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden, special counsel Robert Hur’s report on his handling of classified documents and the criminal charges against Hunter Biden.

In a previous statement to DailyMail.com, CBS denied claims it had improperly seized Herridge’s files and said it had returned the materials to her.

‘What happened here looks really, really wrong in my judgement because they grabbed everything,’ Jordan told the crowd.

‘This is her sources, her information,’ he continued, ‘that just does not happen when you’re talking about the press.’

Jordan, who also sits on the House Oversight Committee, has been in closed-door hearings with a myriad of Hunter Biden’s colleagues, including his uncle, James Biden

Citing sources, the New York Post claimed that Herridge had been pursuing a story related to Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop, and that she had ‘encountered roadblocks’ from management over her coverage of the First Son.

Jordan called CBS’ seizure of Herridge’s documents ‘further encroachment by folks on the left’ against First Amendment rights.

Herridge, meanwhile, has been in the middle of a high-profile court battle over her refusal to reveal sources for articles she wrote in 2017.

A judge has demanded she reveal sources used in a series of articles about a Chinese American scientist who was investigated by the FBI but never charged with wrongdoing.

The case is ongoing.

As for Hunter Biden, ‘he testifies next week in our deposition,’ Jordan said.

‘We will have some questions for him,’ he added.

CBS News did not return a request for comment on the investigation by the Judiciary chairman.
