Presidente de Ecuador denuncia "sabotaje" y pide investigación por cortes de electricidad

El presidente de Ecuador, Daniel Noboa, denunció un presunto “sabotaje” y pidió una investigación ante los cortes de electricidad generados desde el pasado fin de semana en distintas partes del país.

“Hemos iniciado una investigación por sabotaje, porque, en ciertas plantas eléctricas, ha habido sabotaje. Nosotros no vamos a permitir que eso pase, y lo hacen de miserables la última semana antes de una consulta popular porque saben que la tenían perdida”, dijo sin mencionar ningún nombre de posibles responsables.

Noboa añadió que han declarado en “emergencia al sector energético” de Ecuador, país donde hay un cronograma de cortes de electricidad para esta jornada.

Crisis diplomática con México

La crisis diplomática con México estalló el 5 de abril cuando, en un hecho insólito y condenado por gran parte de la comunidad internacional, la Policía ecuatoriana irrumpió en la embajada de México en Quito para arrestar a Jorge Glas, exvicepresidente de Rafael Correa (2013-2018) procesado por corrupción y quien había pedido asilo político a México.

El presidente mexicano, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, ordenó la ruptura de relaciones diplomáticas con el país sudamericano y el inmediato regreso a México de todo el personal de su embajada en Ecuador.

El Gobierno del presidente ecuatoriano, Daniel Noboa, justificó el asalto de la embajada a que México habría incumplido los tratados internacionales sobre el derecho de asilo al refugiar a una persona que estaba imputada por malversación y que debía regresar a la cárcel para cumplir dos sentencias por cohecho y asociación delictiva.
