EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Ladies Of London Caroline's Stanbury's love rival - the mother of her husband Sergio Carrallo

Caroline’s Stanbury is alarmed by her toyboy husband’s devotion to another woman.

Luckily for the socialite, 47, the other lady in Sergio Carrallo’s life is his mother.

‘The way we’ve been brought up is completely different — and, actually, I was always taught you should marry someone that was brought up the same way as you, but Sergio is a complete mama’s boy,’ she says.

The Ladies Of London star, who married the 29-year-old Spanish former footballer, pictured below, in 2021, explains: ‘He cannot get through the day without Face-timing, calling or texting her. He literally finishes breakfast and calls her to let her know what he’s eaten.

‘I only speak to my mother four times a year and he speaks to his mum at least four times a day, minimum.’

Stanbury, who has three children with her Turkish first husband Cem Habib, previously revealed that Carrallo’s parents offered him money not to marry her.

Fancy keeping the Royal Family safe from harm? I hear they’re seeking an ‘event security coordinator’ to protect them who must have ‘a high level of tact, discretion, integrity, sensitivity, confidentiality and ability to take a broad outlook’.

The advert on the Royal Household’s website says the position, which pays around £30,000 a year, involves ‘helping to protect one of the world’s most famous institutions’.

The role is based at Buckingham Palace, but the successful candidate will be expected to work at Windsor Castle at least one day a week, with national travel required on occasion.

 (Very) modern manners

They say beauty is pain, but this sounds excruciating. Model Caprice Bourret says: ‘I’ve tried so many facials, but the only thing that works for me is the derma roller. That’s the roller with all the needles.’

The Californian-born entrepreneur, 52, continues: ‘I have somebody come to the house. She comes in and numbs me, although I do still feel it. The needles are very long and it’s scary when she’s grinding them in. My whole face is red for about a day, but it’s the best of all the facials I’ve tried.’

Think I’ll stick to the Imperial Leather.

Is Poirot star Sir David Suchet pleased that he used his ‘little grey cells’ to accept an offer to appear in pantomime?

Oh, yes he is! The actor, 77, who played Captain Hook in Peter Pan at the Bristol Hippodrome, says: ‘I’d never done panto before — not in 54 years. I was quite nervous and went into it with slight trepidation.

‘I thought, ‘How am I going to fit into this, with a life-long career of classical acting in the great plays and Poirot?’ But I’ve come out of it having had the most wonderful four weeks. It was fun.’

Rottweiler Paxman proves he’s lost none of his bite

Jeremy Paxman has lost none of his combativeness. ‘Jeremy is undoubtedly very frail but he was funny, acerbic and insightful,’ says Saga Magazine editor Louise Robinson, who hosted a Q&A with Newsnight’s former chief interrogator on a cruise ship for the over-50s in the Canary Islands.

‘Cameron, Sunak and Starmer all got it in the neck, as did the poor audience member who dared to ask if he had mellowed in his old age.’ She adds: ‘Jeremy was heartbreakingly honest about the awful reality of living with Parkinson’s [disease]. As he was telling the audience it was going to kill him, one man got up to leave. ‘Hey, come back,’ Paxman barked. ‘It’s not going to happen right this minute’.’

The smart set’s talking about… Frost’s baby tribute to tragic brother Miles

Wilfred Frost has ensured the name of his younger brother Miles, who died suddenly from an undiagnosed heart condition while out jogging, aged just 31, will live on.

The Sky News presenter, 38, whose wife, Kaley, gave birth to their first child last October, tells me: ‘We’ve named our son Miles, for my brother. It’s the most wonderful legacy. My brother, George, and I agreed whoever had a son first would call him Miles.’

They are the sons of late broadcaster Sir David Frost and his widow, Lady Carina Fitzalan-Howard, daughter of the 17th Duke of Norfolk. Eton and Oxford-educated Wilfred is currently digitising thousands of hours of his father’s interviews from the archives and hopes to present the complete version of David’s famous encounter with President Nixon.

‘I met Woodward and Bernstein [the Washington Post journalists who exposed the Watergate scandal] and they said even they couldn’t have prised that admission of guilt from Nixon. It was a remarkable achievement by my father.’

The rising star added: ‘David’s biggest inspiration to us was as a father. He was a better father even than he was a broadcaster.’

Radio 4 Woman’s Hour presenter Emma Barnett describes her interviewing style as ‘warm but forensic’. But, she adds: ‘When I worked at [BBC Radio] 5 Live, so many men after a big political interview would go, ‘I wouldn’t like to be married to you’.

‘I thought, ‘We’ve not met yet, come on’.’

Jo: I’m not a rock chick any more

Her life of drink, drugs and debauchery with her ex-husband, Rolling Stones’ guitarist Ronnie Wood, has left Jo Wood with a nasty hangover.

‘As you get older, you can’t do what you did when you were young,’ the former Strictly Come Dancing contestant, 68, tells me at a red-carpet event in London, which she attended with her 18-year-old grandson Leo, whose father is Jo’s elder son, Jamie. ‘I can’t have a good drink any more because I suffer badly. I have the worst hangover in the world, and it’s awful.’

She adds: ‘It just doesn’t suit me any more and I’m such an organic girl, so I like to put all goodness in my body.’

Sir Matthew Bourne’s production of Edward Scissorhands was, I hear, unexpectedly chopped when Free Palestine protesters stormed Sadler’s Wells Theatre in Islington, North London, on Thursday night.

Just ten minutes into the ballet, a commotion could be heard from the wings, with a chorus of shouting, before the show came to an abrupt standstill. ‘At first, we thought the shouting was part of the show,’ a member of the audience tells me. ‘Then, we thought it strange in a ballet.

‘Then, a flurry of production staff wearing black ran on stage as the curtain came down.’

Security staff removed the demonstrators and police officers arrived as back-up, before the show resumed after a 20-minute hiatus to cheers from the audience. Sadler’s Wells, which is sponsored by Barclays, was targeted because the bank has shares in Israeli arms firms.

Why King Charles is a titanium royal

While some monarchs wear armour, King Charles’s metal is under his skin.

Following a fall while playing polo in 1990, in which he suffered a double fracture of his arm, he was fitted with a titanium plate made in Switzerland.

In my colleague Robert Hardman’s new biography, Charles III: The Inside Story, he reveals the King paid tribute to the Swiss surgeon who had carried out the operation. He was speaking during a party he attended in Klosters, the Swiss ski resort, in 2018.

Hardman writes: ‘He joked that many centuries hence, when some archaeologist or revolutionary breaks into his tomb, all they will find is a pile of dust and a titanium plate saying, ‘Made in Switzerland’. It brought the house down.’

Hardman tells me at the launch party for the book at Hatchards in London: ‘I imagine if he ever goes through an airport security thing, he must go beep.’
