President Murmu asks IES officers to improve work efficiency, contribute to economic development

New Delhi: The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, has given an autographed letter to the Probationers of Indian Economic Service (IES) and asked them to improve their work efficiency, a PIB press release stated.

The President has requested the IES officers to take the responsibility of their work seriously and to always work in the best interest of the people of India. The President said that the economic growth of the country is very important for its development. To achieve this, it is very important to have macroeconomic and micro economic indicators as useful parameters of progress.

The President expressed confidence that they will be able to contribute significantly to the development of the country by taking advantage of these opportunities. She also said that the economic service officers will have the responsibility of providing advice for economic analysis and planning of development programs.

They will also be responsible for strengthening the resource distribution system and evaluating schemes. The President said that the analysis of data and implementation of evidence-based development programs has expedited the economic development of the country. It is the duty of the young IES officers to enhance their work efficiency through novel ideas, methods and techniques.
