Full list of areas where areas snow could fall this week as Met Office issues warning

England is bracing for a week of snow, with some areas expecting up to ‘six inches’. The Met Office has revealed the regions that could see snowfall this week, while other parts of the country prepare for heavy rain. Northern Ireland will be the first to experience the snowy conditions as the weather system moves in from the north, Birmingham Live reports.

The wintry blast will then hit parts of western Scotland before reaching England, going as far south as Manchester. The Met Office explains that this is due to “blocked” air currents from Iceland and Greenland. Other English regions that could see snow include Cumbria and the North East.

The Met Office said: “Towards mid-March there is an increased chance of a greater likelihood of higher pressure as a ‘blocked’ pattern becoming established over Greenland and Iceland, with lower pressure towards the south and southwest,” Central and southern England can expect patches of fog and freezing fog.

A weather front across Scotland will bring wind and rain to the north, moving southeastwards and easing throughout the day. Showers later in the northwest will turn wintry over high ground, according to the Met Office’s Alex Burkill on YouTube.

The Met Office has said: “This is likely to bring a trend towards increasingly settled conditions, with the likelihood of drier than normal conditions, especially in the north. This may lead to a slightly greater than normal chance of colder than average temperatures, although this is mitigated as we move further into spring.”

For Tuesday, February 26, they’ve mentioned: “Skies will turn increasingly cloudy through the morning, with some patchy light rain and drizzle in the afternoon. Not feeling quite as chilly as Monday in lighter winds though temperatures remain around average.”

They also predict that any cloud and rain will go away in the evening. This will leave us with another clear and cold night where there might be a bit of frost and some mist and fog could appear.
