NEW DELHI: Anfernee Simons led the Portland Trail Blazers to a 130-113 victory over the Sacramento Kings with a 29-point performance. The Trail Blazers showcased a balanced scoring effort, highlighted by rookie reserve Duop Reath’s career-high 25 points and nine rebounds. Malcolm Brogdon contributed 19 points, six assists, and five rebounds, while Jabari Walker and rookie Scoot Henderson added 17 points each off the bench.
De’Aaron Fox shone for the Sacramento Kings, scoring a season-high 43 points and making a career-best seven 3-pointers. Domantas Sabonis also had a strong showing with a season-best 34 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists. Despite the individual performances from Fox and Sabonis, the Kings couldn’t secure the win.
Portland’s bench played a crucial role, outscoring Sacramento’s reserves 65-17. The Trail Blazers shot 50 percent from the field, including 40 percent from beyond the arc, en route to a season-high point total. They used a 21-4 run in the second quarter to establish a 57-42 lead, but the Kings mounted a comeback to trail 67-60 at halftime.
Fox and Sabonis continued their scoring barrage in the third quarter, combining for 24 points. However, the Trail Blazers maintained their lead, entering the final quarter with a 104-95 advantage. Portland sealed the victory with a 12-2 run in the fourth quarter, securing their second win in 11 games.
The Kings, on the other hand, lost their second consecutive game and their third in the last four contests. Despite the impressive offensive performances from Fox and Sabonis, Sacramento struggled to contain the Trail Blazers’ balanced attack and bench scoring.
