PJD Link project discontinued because developer failed to meet conditions, says Fahmi
PUTRAJAYA: The Petaling Jaya Dispersal Link (PJD Link) Expressway highway project has been discontinued as its developer failed to meet the conditions, says Fahmi Fadzil.
The government spokesman said that the Cabinet has decided not to continue discussions with the PJD Link developer after they failed to fulfil the conditions precedent contained in the concession agreement (CA) to enable the agreement to take effect.
“The Cabinet has decided today that it will not further discuss the extension as proposed by PJD Link.
“It was rejected as the developer was not able to fulfil the conditions as agreed in order to extend the project,” the Communications Minister said in a press conference after the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday (April 17).
Fahmi added that the Works Ministry would be issuing a statement detailing the matter soon.
The PJD Link was a proposed 25.4km dual-lane elevated expressway connecting Damansara to Bandar Kinrara in Selangor.
On July 31 last year, the then caretaker Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari had announced the decision to scrap the project.
“No PJD Link after we have assessed the impact assessment report. The state government is not satisfied with the proposal and has decided to cancel the proposed construction of PJD Link,” he said.
