The five Edinburgh restaurants named in 'best kebab house in Scotland' list

Five Edinburgh eateries have been shortlisted at the British Kebab Awards with the restaurants vying with five other Scottish restaurants to take home the crown of the top kebab house in the country.

The shortlist was released on Friday January 19 and those wishing to vote for their favourite donner producer to help them claim top spot can now do so through the British Kebab Awards website here.

Ada Restaurant on Antigua Street; Daika Kurdish Grill on Jonhston Terrace; Kurdish Best Kebab House on Montrose Terrace; Memed Barbecue Grill & Meze Bar on South Clerk Street and Verdo on Newington Road are all in the running for the award.

The winner of the best in Scotland category is set to be announced on Tuesday February 27 at the Park Plaza Westminster Hotel in London.

Three other restaurants from Glasgow, one from Alloa and another from Motherwell will also compete with the aforementioned Edinburgh eateries.

Last year’s Scottish winner was Shawarma King from Glasgow so there is hope that with five restaurants in the running that the capital can come home with the crown.

Following a meticulous selection process, the shortlist showcases the exceptional talent and dedication of establishments from across the nation.

“A panel of distinguished judges, experts in the culinary field, have painstakingly curated the shortlist, highlighting the outstanding contributions of establishments that have elevated the kebab experience to new heights. From time-honored traditional recipes to cutting-edge innovative fusions, the shortlisted candidates epitomize the pinnacle of the kebab industry.
