Opening date confirmed for new Cambs B&M store in former Wilko

B&M will be opening a new store in Huntingdon next month

Discount retail chain B&M will be opening a new store in Huntingdon next month. It comes as the company continues to expand across the UK.

The shop will open in the vacant unit on St Germain Walk in the town centre on March 22. It was previously occupied by Wilko, who closed down on October 3, 2023, following the chain’s collapse into administration.

It will be the 13th B&M store to open in Cambridgeshire and the second one in Huntingdon. The shop will follow on from the opening at the town’s retail park in August 2019.

A spokesperson for B&M said: “We’re feeling extremely positive about the creation of more jobs for local people, and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.”

The chain have announced a number of new openings across the county in recent months. The Chatteris store opened in October 2023 while the Ely branch is due to open in a few weeks’ time on March 7.
