The Pagadian City Airport is closed temporarily for one month to pave the way for rehabilitation works.
Airport operations are suspended from April 15, 2024 to May 15, 2024.
According to the local government, some parts of the runway will have to be fixed because of cracks.
Travelers who have booked flights to and from Pagadian during this period are advised to coordinate with the airline companies for possible rerouting or rebooking of flights.
The city government said the temporary closure will not have a big impact on the city’s economy as the Ozamis Airport is located nearby.
“Paningkamutan nila mahuman within 3 weeks’ time. Wala tay eroplano, April 15-May 15. Way byahe. Dili ra kaayo matandog (ang economic) kay pwede ra ka mosakay sa Ozamiz,” Pagadian City Mayor Sammy Co said. —GMA Regional TV
