The Corey Dennis chapter officially ended for Ohio State after this season finished. Head coach Ryan Day made the decision to not retain Dennis as an assistant after he completed his fourth season as quarterbacks coach. From there, Dennis seemed to have found a home at Utah as an analyst, but it was recently announced that he would instead be heading to the SEC and working as an analyst for Mississippi.
Dennis had a memorable 17-day run with Kyle Whittingham and the Utes, but he is once again moving on to greener pastures with Lane Kiffin at Mississippi.
Dennis was at Ohio State for the past nine seasons, getting his start as an intern under his father-in-law, Urban Meyer in 2015. He worked his way up from intern to graduate assistant to senior quality control coach and finally quarterbacks coach.
It is very telling that of the three Ohio State coaches looking for work, Dennis is the only one who has found a new home and it is a very clear demotion.
