Olympic heptathlon champion Jessica Ennis-Hill speaks on being a mum in sport

Jessica and his Hill says she owes her some credit for being able to get back competing after becoming a mother. I learned so much about myself as an athlete, myself as a woman, and I was able to bring my son on that final part of my career. Your family and that balance gives you so much perspective. And I think sometimes you need to really tap into that to allow you to go on and perform at that next level. And that, you know, having my son absolutely motivated me to to win, you know, another world title. Former Olympic heptathlon champion also touched on her challenges as a mom and how she managed to compete at the top level. Raising a family, there was always that feeling of you had to have one or the other. So you, you know, you have your career and then you start your family after. I think there’s often so many barriers put in place and, you know, how do you navigate your way through as a woman to understand, you know, firstly how your body changes, but then how do you come back to not just, you know, perform again, but actually get back to the top of your game? But for me, having my son, like you said at the, you know, latter stage of my career. Having two more years of competing and going to another World Championships and winning and then a final Olympics and and picking up a silver medal for me was the most incredible moment and proudest moment of my career.
