EDMONTON — The Edmonton Oilers got back in the win column yesterday afternoon. On their second game of a three game road trip, they won 4-3 against the formidable Dallas Stars.
Calvin Pickard stopped 24 of 27 shots for his sixth consecutive win this season. He’s 7-2-0 in 10 games this season, sporting a 2.48 goals against average (GAA) and a .910 save percentage (SV%).
On Saturday Headlines with Elliotte Friedman, he reported on several trade situations around the league. He touched on the Oilers and what they are willing to trade in order to make an acquisition by the trade deadline.

“I think Ken Holland is looking at his team, he’s going to do something. The one thing he’s let team’s know is that, for Philip Broberg – he’s not going anywhere for a rental.”
While this statement makes it clear that Broberg won’t be traded for a player with an expiring deal, it doesn’t count out the idea of trading for a player with term. This makes the most sense for an Oilers team that is skimp on assets to acquire players who could stay around the team long-term.
