NSW government ‘particularly focused’ on housing for DV survivors
NSW Premier Chris Minns says one area the state government is “particularly focused on” is housing for victims of domestic violence.
The NSW government has announced a $230 million emergency package to enhance support for domestic, family and sexual violence victims over four years in the state.
“It’s a perennial issue across the entire government, particularly when it comes to human capital,” Mr Minns said.
“Housing for survivors of domestic violence abuse and their families – often they are with kids.
“According to experts and stakeholders in the sectors … women in particular may not be financially in a position to leave a violent household because they can’t get housing.

“That is particularly exacerbated in one of the most expensive cities in the world which is Sydney.”
