Investigations continue following Sydney riot

NSW Police have launched a fresh appeal for information this morning, one week after riots broke out outside Christ the Good Shepherd Church in Sydney’s West following the alleged stabbing of Bishop Mamari Emmanuel. Aaron Ramsey joins us live from Bankstown in Sydney’s West. Aaron, good morning. Police have just given an update. Davina Police have released the images of 12 men they wish to speak to in relation to the riots that broke outside out outside that church last Monday night. Detectives say they’ve combed through over 600 hours of dash Cam, CCTV and phone vision to try and identify those responsible for threatening authorities for injuring 51 police officers or damaging over 40 police vehicles. Police have said this morning that these 12 men who they believe to be the worst offenders out of that crowd and now they’re turning to the public for help. There are obviously other people at that location at the time which had their faces covered and people and police are asking their members of the public and family if they could help us identify those people that soon as well. They’re up to 50 people we’re looking for. Davina, this comes after three men were arrested last week in relation to that riot. That violence erupting after 53 year old Bishop Marie Emmanuel was allegedly attacked by a 16 year old with a knife. It’s understood that the Bishop is now out of hospital and recovering. That 16 year old is still in hospital where he was formally charged with a terrorism attack. Davina. Nancy live in Sydney, thank you.
